Real Game Reviews

Harley Davidson Motorcycles: Race to the Rally is one game that has received a lot of bad reviews, bad reviews that are a little too bad in my view. The truth is that there haven’t been many Harley Davidson games so far and the real problem is that the ones that have appeared are not that great. People do think that this one is even worse than most of the others. Thinking about the fact that I have not played most of the others I can not provide real info on this but I do think that this game will be liked by some people.

The first thing that seemed strange is the fact that this is a game that revolves around Harley Davidson, one brand of motorcycles that is not really involved in speed.  With this in mind the idea of a Harley Davidson racing game seems strange from the beginning. In case you lived in a cave for the last few years, you probably don’t know about the NFS series. This is one of the most popular games in the world developed by EA Games. If you are familiar with the series you probably know that the last 3 NFS games were a disappointment to the fans.

Starting with Underground, EA let go of the simulation type of game that we got used to in Porsche Unleashed, and concentrated on arcade games only. This was disappointing because NFS used to be the best at this type of games. Now this game is all about tuning your ride, which is actually cool because lots of people these days are caught up with this fab. It is certain that NFS: Underground 2 was the most complete game of all, considering the actual tuning aspects. Most Wanted brought back the police into the action. Burnout Dominator is another game from the renowned Burnout series which started out under the ACCLAIM logo. You might also find the title of Burnout Domination. The entire series has been incredible so far and this game here promised to be the best one yet (just like any title that is a sequel to a previous success). When I first put in the game in my Playstation 2 I got a strange feeling. At first glance the game is very similar with Burnout Revenge but if we start to look deeper we will find several differences.

It was very nice from my point of view to see a game that is now more focused on drifting and speed chains instead of takedowns. The speed you get in this game is quite hardcore so to speak and there were several occasions when I just yelled: “Holly S@#$” at some (more…)
