Harley Davidson Motorcycles: Race to the Rally Review
Harley Davidson Motorcycles: Race to the Rally is one game that has received a lot of bad reviews, bad reviews that are a little too bad in my view. The truth is that there haven’t been many Harley Davidson games so far and the real problem is that the ones that have appeared are not that great. People do think that this one is even worse than most of the others. Thinking about the fact that I have not played most of the others I can not provide real info on this but I do think that this game will be liked by some people.
The first thing that seemed strange is the fact that this is a game that revolves around Harley Davidson, one brand of motorcycles that is not really involved in speed. With this in mind the idea of a Harley Davidson racing game seems strange from the beginning. Now starting the game the first impact is not that bad but as time passes we get to realize that everything is repeated. The game is not fast when talking about speed unless you will press the boost button. Well, here we have a problem as we can easily manage to have boost at all times even if this shouldn’t be the case. On the other hand, if that boost does not exist the video game is not good as racing as you do not feel the speed, even if you are supposed to ride at 120 mph.
The tracks are quite enough but they are not well built. There is zero challenge in driving the motorcycles because once you get used to the game you can not really lose a race and on the whole you will probably get annoyed at the accidents you will do and how bad the models will look there (both the bikes and the drivers). The levels are also quite long. This aspect would not be bad unless combined with the repetitive nature of the game. On the other hand, if you go over this aspect you will see that it is not at all that bad, but only if you manage to get over gameplay, which is harder said than done. The graphics are not that great and the game is sometimes so ugly that you might not want to play it anymore.
One big thumbs up to the game stands in the Harley Davidson models themselves. You can customize them with various items and this is quite enjoyable. The bikes do look very good and this is the one aspect I really liked in this game. The same can not be said about the soundtrack although tastes do vary. A lot of 80s type metal is found here and one positive is that you can skip the tracks you do not like by simply pressing a button on your controller.
On the whole the game is not that good but it might keep you entertained for a while. You might end up loving it but there are few chances of that happening. You are more likely to simply like the game and play it only to get bored at one point and leave it for playing a couple of months later.
