Mortal Kombat Deception Review
Mortal Kombat Deception is the sequel to Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. It is needless to say that everybody knows about the Mortal Kombat series and we are talking about a series that is so popular that simply the name sells. My personal problem with Deception is that I got to play it after I had already played Mortal Kombat Armageddon a lot. This means that I was a little disappointed but after I got over that feeling I started to realize that we are dealing with a tremendous game. We have different game modes in Konquest, classic arcade, puzzle kombat and chess kombat. Puzzle kombat is really fun and you can add a lot of fun to the game by simply playing this. Chess kombat is one game mode that is highly entertaining as it features a combination of chess and classic mortal kombat fighting that make it very fun, strategic and entertaining. Konquest is not as good or entertaining as in Armageddon but then again, Armageddon did come after Deception.
The Classic Arcade game mode is probably the best part of the game and it is that one part of every Mortal Kombat game in the series that was special and made it worthwhile playing. We have three fighting styles for each fighter and one of them features a weapon. The mastery of the combos and fatalities is not easy but not that difficult either. The problem is that we do not have a lot of fighters to chose from at first although we do have all of the popular fighters including Sub Zero, Scorpion, Baraka, Nightwolf and so on. In order to unlock these players you need to go to the krypt in the main menu and either pay for them or find keys in the game that help you in unlocking special krypts that are not to be opened with money alone. You make money in classic mortal kombat or in Konquest mode. Most of the fighters are to be found while in Konquest mode. Classic Arcade will probably keep you playing the most and it will be interesting once you unlock all the arenas to try the death traps that wait for you.
I am not going to tell you much about Konquest mode but what I can tell you is that you will be moving through different realms and we will get to see the entire life of the fighter Shinjonku. Now in order to get some of the fighters you will want to get in classic arcade mode you will need to find various chests and stuff in Konquest. I recommend that you take a look at some video game cheats web sites in order to find their exact locations as there is little chance you will without them. A list of the unlockables can be found HERE or on dozens of similar web pages online. The problem a lot of Mortal Kombat Deception players will have in Konquest mode will be that you will need to perform a lot of different combos with a lot of characters in a lot of styles. You will eventually get the hang of it but it is still quite difficult if you are not used to playing Mortal Kombat games and using combos. You will also find it difficult at the end of Konquest to defeat Scorpion probably as you will need to rely only on martial art moves.
On the whole, Mortal Kombat Deception is a very good fighting game and all of the player reviews you will find online will tell you this. There are minor flaws of course but what game does not have them? When you get busy of one mode you can try another one, learn fatalities, play Chess Kombat and so on. Mortal Kombat Deception is sure to keep you playing for hours.
